Dr. Gregory Brown, MD
Board-Certified Internist
Dr. Brown joined ApexMed Primary Care in 2025, bringing a deep commitment to compassionate, non-judgmental care for every patient. He earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio in 2006, followed by his residency in Internal Medicine in Albuquerque, New Mexico, which he completed in 2009. During the pandemic, he pursued and completed a 2-year fellowship at the prestigious Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine.
Before becoming a physician, Dr. Brown worked as a registered nurse in the Austin HIV Clinic and at Austin State Hospital, and even earlier as a nurse aide — experiences that shaped his empathetic, patient-centered approach.
With roots in Central and South Texas (his father from Kerrville and mother from San Antonio), Dr. Brown has a lifelong love for the region and is excited to serve the San Antonio community. When he’s not in the clinic, you’ll likely find Dr. Brown immersed in his favorite outdoor pursuits: tending to garden projects near his home, exploring the greenbelt trails with his dogs, or working in his greenhouse (often with a little help — or supervision — from his cats!). He and his wife Hannah share a passion for travel, especially through medical missions to the Middle East, where they explore global medicines, foods, and cultures while giving back to communities in need.
